Holben has been a contributing writer for American Cinematographer Magazine since 1995. He is currently the editor of the Shot Craft section of the Magazine. Cover Stories
In 2017, at the behest of publisher and editor-in-chief, Stephen Pizzello, and managing editor, Jon Witmer, Holben created the new department Shot Craft in the magazine, dedicated to educational and independent cinematography. This has become a staple of the publication and a favorite department for student and professional cinematographers alike.
